Phillip Island

Phillip Island is a quaint island off the southern coast of Australia. It is home to just 10,000 residents and is an island where everybody knows everybody. Although the island has a small population, it gets millions of visitors each year. The island’s greatest tourist attraction is its abundance of penguins. The island’s penguin population is greater than that of its human population. They throw nightly penguin parades where tourists watch the penguins waddle onto the shore.

An Illicit Affair

Beth Barnard and Fergus Cameron met while working at the penguin parade. Beth was in her early twenties and had just moved to the island from Australia’s mainland. Fergus was a well-known member of the community. He was an investor and lived on his family farm with his wife and two children. Soon after meeting, Fergus and Beth began a secret affair.

Fergus even hired Beth to work on his family farm where they continued their affair right in daring proximity to Fergus’s family. On several occasions, Fergus’s wife Vivienne had walked in on them suspiciously close. Each…
